TRIP NOTES
Preparing you for the trip
The price you pay for this internship includes extensive TEFL training so you feel totally prepared when it comes to getting started in the classroom. You’ll learn the basics of TEFL in your included 120 Hour Online TEFL Course, studying in your own time with the help of an expert tutor.
Your orientation
When you arrive in China you’ll be met by the in-country team who will escort you to your accommodation for your orientation. Throughout this period, spread across the two epic cities of Beijing and Weihai, you will be fully enrolled onto the internship with sessions on Chinese culture, tours of the city and everything else you need to prepare you for the months ahead. You will also have the chance to socialise with other teachers over a welcome meal, explore the city and even spruce up on the basics of Mandarin!
Your teaching experience
The internship is designed to equip you with valuable teaching experience whilst receiving on-going support from our in-country team. You will experience the real China first-hand and acquire essential skills for life. You'll have plenty of time to explore China and our in-country are on hand to give you help and advice on places to go, see and do!
Each school and student age groups have different requirements, but you’ll likely be teaching five days a week, and for this you’ll get accommodation, some meals and a living allowance of RMB2,000 (about £200 / US$260).
At the end of the internship you will have a TEFL qualification from an accredited provider for life as well as a certificate detailing your completed internship – an essential addition to your resume.
